PhD in Economics from the University of California. Master in Administration from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and in Mathematics from the Associação Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada. Graduated in Electronic Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica. He is currently an assistant professor at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a Member of the Advisory Board of the Sociedade Brasileira de Estudos de Empresas Transnacionais, a Member of the Conselho Superior de Economia da Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo, and a columnist – Jornal Valor Economico and Correio Braziliense. He has experience in economics, with an emphasis on international economy, working mainly on the following topics: growth, institutions, judiciary and economy, privatization, and infrastructure.
