President of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM). Holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Commercial Law from the University of São Paulo (USP). He also holds a postgraduate degree in Business Law (with a focus on Corporate Law and Capital Markets) from FGV Rio Law. Graduated in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). He has over 20 years of professional experience, both (i) in law firms with recognized expertise in Business Law, focusing on Corporate Law, Capital Markets, and M&A transactions, and (ii) in the corporate environment, where he served as General Counsel of Grupo Societário that, at the time, comprised several publicly traded companies. Since 2010, he has been a Full Professor at FGV Rio Law, teaching in both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Currently, he is a member of the Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the Corporate Governance Bureau of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the Steering Committee of the Financial Stability Board (FSB).
