In May, FGV Rio Law Professor and Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program, Thiago Bottino, participated at the 2nd World Jurists Forum at China University of Political Science and Law, in China.
The event also celebrated the 72nd anniversary of the school, featuring the participation of distinguished scholars from China and special guests from all around the world to discuss the implications of artificial intelligence in legal education, as well as to exchange ideas and personal experiences in the field of law.
The opening remarks were delivered by Professor Thiago Bottino, alongside other colleagues, as they gave a lecture in “Legal Education in the Artificial Intelligence Era”, highlighting the impacts that artificial intelligence has on legal education, the necessary adaptations for current curriculums, and the ethical considerations that legal professionals must be prepared to address.
On the occasion, Professor Bottino shared his experiences regarding the implementation of the mandatory courses “Programming for Lawyers” and “Legal Data Science” in the Undergraduate Law Program at FGV Rio Law.
In the second part of the event, at the thematic forums of discussion, Professor Bottino participated in the “Global Perspectives on Criminal Justice Reform” panel, there he also gave the lecture “Recent Developments in the Brazilian Criminal Justice System”.
The presentation was focused on the key changes and trends in the Brazilian criminal justice system, including recent legislative reforms, advancements in judicial practices, and ongoing challenges.
