FGV Rio Law Receives International Delegations to Strengthen Global Ties

As part of the efforts to strengthen its global ties and present the new Global School project, FGV Rio Law received over the past month international delegations from King’s College London, the University of Macau, Renmin University, and the University of Ottawa.

The King’s College London delegation was received at FGV Rio Law by its Vice Dean Antônio Maristrello Porto, and the Office of International Affairs and Global Cooperation. The fruitful meeting culminated in the signing of a cooperation agreement for a Dual Degree Program (Undergraduate/Master’s + LL.M.), which allows FGV Rio Law students to complete two independent degrees within a shorter timeframe. This sort of international experience greatly enhances students’ profiles and prepares them for the challenges in a globalized legal environment.

The delegation from King’s College London was composed of Professor Paul James Cardwell, Vice Dean for Education at the Dickson Poon School of Law, Caitlin English, Senior Programme Manager for Partnerships, Professional and Executive Education, Professor Ann Mumford, and Jaqueline Wilkins, Regional Director for Global Engagement in Latin America.

Thereafter, FGV Rio Law Associate Dean for International Affairs and Global Cooperation, Rodrigo Vianna, received Professor Tong lo Cheng, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Macau, and Director of the Centre for Judicial and Legal Studies of China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries. The meeting served to create ties with the leading university in the sole lusophone region in mainland Asia.

Additionally, FGV Rio Law also held meetings with Professor Wang Yi, Vice President of Renmin University, Professor Wang Wen, Executive Dean of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University, and Professor João Velloso, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies at the University of Ottawa.

As a Global School, FGV Rio Law reinforces its commitment to integrate the global scenario of legal education, promoting international cooperation, research and knowledge dissemination with the most renowned institutions around the world.
