From July 15th to 18th, FGV Rio Law Associate Dean for International Affairs and Global Cooperation, Rodrigo Vianna, had the pleasure to participate at the Law Schools Global League (LSGL) General Assembly and Academic Conference, held in Bogotá and Cartagena – Colombia, at the Universidad de los Andes.
As one of the most important events from the League, the General Assembly is an annual gathering where Deans and other representatives of all member institutions discuss numerous topics, such as the LSGL’s annual financial report, ongoing projects, creation of working groups, and membership evaluation.
Furthermore, an Academic Conference, held every semester, took place alongside the General Assembly. This edition aimed to address the theme of “Learning Law through Experience”, as the experiential learning and the use of active methodologies are increasingly taking a central role. At FGV Rio Law, this approach has been implemented years ago, e.g., with the inclusion of mandatory practical activities aimed at students from the 1st to the 5th semester, known as “Field Projects”.
To conclude, the 12th edition of the LSGL Summer School, which was also held at Universidad de los Andes, featured the participation of FGV Rio Law Professor Daniel Vargas as part of the Academic teaching staff, as well as FGV Rio Law student Leandro Rebelo, who was awarded with a merit-based scholarship from FGV Rio Law to attend the Summer School.
