Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida participates in workshop organized by the University of Reading from England

On Tuesday, July 12th  2022, Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida participated in the workshop "EU law teaching in the UK post-Brexit: learning from EU law colleagues based in other non-EU states and seeking UK solutions," organized by the University of Reading from England.

The event followed the inaugural meeting of the "EU Law Academics Assemble!" network, which was held at City University on June 8, 2022. The network was elaborated by Professor Charlotte O'Brien (York), Professor Michael Dougan (Liverpool), Professor Tamara Hervey (City), and Professor Niamh Nic Shuibhne (Edinburgh) to create a platform for exchange and support for European Union (EU) law academics involved in research and teaching in the UK post-Brexit.

On the occasion, there was a debate between EU law academics on how best to position and deliver Union law teaching in their law degree curriculum, as well as between professors from outside the EU to compare the future of EU law teaching in the UK to teaching currently delivered in other jurisdictions outside the EU.

The seminar was intended to support participants in maintaining the high quality of EU law teaching and in "making the case for EU law," thereby promoting students' personal and professional development and enhancing their employability.
