From November 28th to 30th, FGV Rio Law’s Associate Dean for International Affairs and Global Cooperation, Rodrigo Vianna, had the honor of participating in the 15th-anniversary celebration of the Public Function Strengthening Program in Latin America, held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
The program, an initiative of Fundación Botín, aims to strengthen public institutions in Latin America by fostering the development of a network of highly trained public servants dedicated to the public good and nurturing the leadership potential of university students with exceptional talent and commitment.
The event in Cartagena not only marked the program’s 15th anniversary but also celebrated the conclusion of its 15th edition, which featured the participation of 32 students selected from over 13,000 applicants across Latin America. This year’s edition began in Spain at Centro Botín, continued at the Instituto de Iberoamérica at the University of Salamanca, and concluded at the School of Government of Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
In addition to the celebrations, the Cartagena event brought together professors, collaborators, international partners, and members of the program’s alumni network, including over 300 former participants. Representing FGV Rio Law as a prestigious global institution were students Ricardo Carrión, Isa Mota, Pedro Burlini, and Pedro Costa, who had participated in previous editions of the Public Function Strengthening Program.
