Scholarships, Prosup/Capes fees and tuition fee waivers
Scholarships, tuition fees and tuition waivers are granted and renewed based on the following criteria: performance in the selection process, academic performance in the program and the socioeconomic conditions of the applicant. The detailed rules are included in the selection process communications, in the course regulations and in Capes Ordinance No. 181/2012, which regulates Prosup/Capes.
The distribution and renewal of benefits depend on the resources made available by Capes and the School budgetary conditions. Decisions are made by the Scholarship Committee, considering the criteria defined by the Program Coordination and the current regulations. Benefits are reviewed twice a year to ensure transparency and equity.
Prosup and PDPG/Capes Scholarships involve payment of a monthly grant directly to the student, according to the value established by Capes. Ordinance No. 33 of February 16, 2023 establishes that the values of the Scholarships are:
- Master's degree: BRL 2.100,00
- PhD: BRL 3.100,00
- Post-doctorate: BRL 5.200,00
According to Capes Ordinance 187/2023, students may combine Master's, PhD and post-doctoral scholarships granted by Capes with paid activity or other income, in compliance with the guidelines established in the Program Regulations.
Prosup/Capes School Fees are paid monthly by Capes directly into the account of the beneficiary, who must transfer the amount to FGV, as payment of tuition and other course fees.
Beneficiaries of a Prosup/Capes Scholarship or Prosup/Capes grant will automatically receive a full exemption from tuition fees, in accordance with the Program Regulations.
